Abstract In this short chapter, the editors draw their main conclusions. Using Antonio Gramsci’s analysis of what constitutes a crisis, it begins by reviewing unsustainable political economy cancer research as an obstacle for biomarkers. It proceeds to conclude that imaginary precision oncology poses inherent risks and limitations development care. Instead, authors argue notion personalised care combines advancement biomarkers with patient-centred focus. For incurable cancers biomedical could be better directed towards needs reduce suffering ensure integrity dignity patients.
